Privacy policy

This policy explains how TeacherPay AU ("we", "us") handles personal information. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

• Calculator inputs: processed in your browser and remembered only in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter them. We don't receive them unless you use an AI coach.
• Newsletter: your email, optional first name and state, the topics you choose and the page you signed up from.
• Account: your email and a securely hashed password (handled by Google Firebase Authentication), plus records of what you've purchased.
• Purchases: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we keep the product, amount, date and email.
• AI coaches: the text you submit and the response, so we can review quality and prevent misuse. Don't include other people's personal information (such as students' names).
• Contact form: your name, email and message.
• Analytics: Google Analytics may collect usage data such as pages viewed, device and approximate location, using cookies.

How we use it

To provide the site and tools, send the emails you asked for, deliver purchases, answer messages, improve our content and keep the service secure. We don't sell personal information.

Storage and overseas disclosure

Data is stored with our service providers, including Google Cloud/Firebase, Stripe and (for email) our email service provider. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in every email or our unsubscribe page, ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a privacy matter you can complain to us, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Accounts across our sites

TeacherPay AU accounts are kept separate from our other sites. Purchases and data on TeacherPay AU are not shared with TeacherPay UK or our police sites.
