VGSA 2026 approved: Victorian rates updated

The Fair Work Commission approved VGSA 2026 on 16 October 2026 and it came into operation on 23 October 2026. Victorian teacher and education support pay scales, calculators and guides now use the approved rates. Our tracker said approval was pending until today; that was out of date and is corrected.

Calculators inside guides, and pay scale update emails

Guides now include the matching calculator instead of a link to it. Catholic and independent school pages point to a payslip check rather than a government calculator. Every pay scale PDF offers an email when that scale changes, and calculators show what your future rises and step increases add up to.

Payslip checks for teacher aides, and clearer search titles

The payslip checker now works for school support staff (teacher aides, SLSOs, education support and school admin), checked against each state's support staff rates. Support staff pages get a pay-rise alert for aides, every guide now suggests a next step straight after the answer, and several page titles now answer the search directly.

Calculators now show your next step right under your result

Every calculator with a premium report now shows what that report adds for your own result directly beneath it, including on the calculators built into state, pay rise and step pages. Calculators can open pre-set to your state and step, every step page now has its own take-home calculator, guides link to the matching free tool near the top, and long values in worked examples no longer run off narrow screens.

Every pay step, the Teacher Pay Index and a free widget

A page for every pay step in every state (salary, 2026–27 take-home with and without HELP, part-time, pay history and upcoming rises, and the same experience in other states). The Australian Teacher Pay Index 2026 ranks every state and compares pay with inflation since 2022. A free pay rise tracker widget for school and union sites, a teacher job application calendar and a guide to transfer rounds. NSW's 1 January 2023 rise added to its pay history; pending back-dated rises now show correctly on the tracker.
