The short answer

Victoria's Targeted Financial Incentives pay up to $50,000 before tax to teachers who take a role at a hard-to-staff rural or regional government school, plus $10,000 retention payments after years 2, 3 and 4. The Regional Relocation Incentive pays up to $30,000 plus up to $5,000 relocation. Both cover roles starting Term 4 2026 or Term 1 2027.

Victoria's country incentives are fewer than NSW's, but they are larger and paid up front. The headline is the Targeted Financial Incentive (TFI): up to $50,000 when you start at an eligible hard-to-staff school, with 50 roles on offer in 2026-27.

These are Department programs, advertised on School Jobs Vic, not VGSA entitlements. The small remote allowance and the principal-set special payment are the only ones written into the agreement.
